Corporate support
DeadMan's Handle Ltd has experience in a number of disciplines. This experience has been used to develop special packages for corporate customers, especially in the field of laptop utility software. The purpose of these packages is to reduce the risk and implementation costs of DeadMan's Handle in a corporate setting.
DeadMan's Handle implementation projects
In all IT projects the expenditure on the software licenses is only part of the total project cost: many other activities (such as implementation, documentation, roll-out and training) have significant costs, and risks, to the organization.
Whilst DeadMan's Handle is simple to install and use these processes, along with training, need to be actually carried out. This is where costs can mount rapidly unless the whole implementation is approached in a logical and coherent fashion.
To help corporate customers have rapid and successful implementations of DeadMan's Handle we have developed packages to meet corporate needs. The following are the three core packages, but all can be modified to meet your specific requirements.
Implementation package
This is the simplest package, and assumes that the business has clear security policies and standards, knows exactly how DeadMan's Handle fits into those strategies, and already has a highly developed IT infrastructure and roll-out processes, along with developed IT standards and practices.
Here, the business simply wants help and support in getting DeadMan's Handle quickly out to all the notebooks in its community. Thus this package provides:
- The creation of the roll-out and training plan.
- Execution of the roll-out (usually in conjunction with the business IT staff).
- The training.
- Post-implementation support to agreed service levels.
Business package
This package is aimed at businesses who want more help at the front end, embedding DeadMan's Handle into their overall security processes. This package provides:
- Full project plan.
- Risk analysis of the business for security.
- Development of policies and plans to ISO 27002 standards.
- Identification of DeadMan's Handle in the policies.
- Support in security policy implementation.
- Laptop security suggestions.
- DeadMan's Handle implementation plan.
- Implementation of DeadMan's Handle, including training.
- Post-implementation support to agreed service levels.
It may be seen that the business package includes the implementation package, but provides much more of the business security support. Naturally, this package usually requires some discussion of the scope, as this will vary according to the level of security policies and standards already implemented in the business.
Development package
This package allows modification of the current DeadMan's Handle product so that it meets customer-specific requirements. This package typically provides:
- System specification.
- Project and development plan.
- Development of special version.
- Documentation of the special version.
It should be noted that this plan does not overlap with the other two plans: it just covers production of customised versions. This package is most useful where businesses wish to alter the secure file deletion process or change the challenge mechanism.
Package selection
We do not believe in a 'one size fits all' approach: whilst the above are the three core packages, businesses are free to modify them to meet their needs. Please contact us for details.
